INSPECTION OF WHARVES ON THE LOWER NORTH SHORE

As part of this project, BLM was responsible into the mandate by the client of management of budgets and schedules, coordination of resources, production of deliverables, etc. and carried out the underwater inspections and production of the report.

Nature of the mandate

 

Complete inspection of the wharf and its components including all the fender system and surface elements of the wharves.

Service rendered

 

  • Visual inspection of the structure with simultaneous video recording.
  • Comparative evaluation with previous reports of the overall deficiencies of the structure, components and defence system.
  • Technical report including complete plans of the structures, underwater video and photos of each element.

Challenges and solutions

 

One of the problems of this mandate is the distant location of the structures and the logistical problems of working on the Côte-Nord base. Our intervention team has been able to mobilize quickly on the Lower North Shore, either by road (TransLabrador Highway) or by boat.
