The shipping industry frequently requires ad hoc interventions to their fleet of vessels. Many of these interventions can be carried out by a team of experienced divers with a good knowledge of the vessels. This alternative avoids the need to dry-dock the vessel and a prolonged suspension of service. As a result, it becomes economically advantageous for one of our diving teams to carry out these interventions.
Among the services offered to shipping companies is a complete underwater inspection service according to the criteria of the largest maritime classification offices. BLM is proud to be certified by Bureau Veritas and Lloyd’s Register for the “UWS in lieu of Drydock” segment.
With one of the most complex sections of the St. Lawrence Seaway to navigate, an emergency underwater inspection is often required to assess the damage following an operation that led to the partial grounding of the vessel. Following the underwater inspection, repair work is sometimes required immediately. Our teams of divers have the required expertise and are available 24/7 to respond to this type of intervention at any time.
